Preschoolers & Children
have a home at FBC!
At First Baptist Church, we place a high importance on children and their faith development. We believe that children are a precious gift from God, and we strive to provide what they need to grow into well-rounded Christians. We offer Bible studies, music, and missions education, as well as hands-on projects in the community, camps, and family activities. All of our classes and activities are geared to meet children on their developmental level, whether they are two years old or in the 6th grade. There are many important spiritual milestones in our lives, and our church makes a point of recognizing those moments in the lives of children. Please explore our weekly activities and some of the yearly activities that our church offers. We would love for you and your children to be a part of our preschool and children’s ministry!
In Christ,
Kim Mason
Minister to Children

Faith Milestones
|
Parent-Child Dedication — A child's dedication is a time for the child's family and the church family to pledge to be there for the child on his or her faith journey.
|
Bible Presentation to 1st Graders – We present Bibles to our rising first graders each September. |
Big Church Bags – When children enter the first grade, they begin attending the entire worship service. They are presented with Big Church Bags filled with quiet activities to help them listen and learn from the worship service. |
Salvation – This is the time when a person recognizes personal sin, asks for forgiveness, and asks Jesus to become Lord of one’s life. |
Profession of Faith – The church celebrates the time when a person publicly shares his or her decision to follow Christ. |
Baptism – Those who profess their salvation are baptized as a symbol of becoming a new person in Christ. |
First Communion – The first communion that a child shares with his or her faith community after becoming a Christian is recognized by inviting the child to come forward and be served communion first. |
